There's just something not right about it, not to mention my thighs are different sizes. I was on crutches for only 2 weeks and my quad has atrophied to just a femur bone (thigh). Its completely disgusting. I am trying to fit physical therapy in between class, studying, and the OR. Ive actually never been so excited to go back to school, I had to take 2 weeks off and I cant even tell you how board I was. I wasn't able to drive at the time so my days consisted of studying, tv, and watching the cellulite multiply on my butt. I started my clinical rotations in the OR and am loving it. I'm working with the veterans and I love them and am honored to take care of them. I have good days and bad days. Sometimes nailing all my intubations (breathing tubes), IVs, and running the entire case, and other days I cant to anything right. During my time off, my mom came out to help me while Jordan was in Utah. We hit up a few restaurants, museum, Redbox, and the local liquor store in a "Jazzy" (see below). We spent Valentines day this year watching the sunset at the beach, cooking a delicious dinner at home, and movies. Jordan has been just as busy working and running my errands while I'm incapacitated (god bless him). I think he was more excited then I was when I went back to school. Well that's it for now, love you all...

Happy V day!!! Its so untimely I cant even tell you. I found out on Monday, and I'm suppose to start my rotations in the OR next week. I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow and I must admit I'm rather scared. I'm suppose to be the one giving the anesthesia not receiving... Now that I know exactly what they do to you once they put you to "sleep" makes me a little apprehensive. And to top it off, all these residents, surgeons, anesthetist, and nurses that I have to work with for the next two years are going to see me naked and moaning in pain!!! The thought of them drilling holes in my bones makes me nauseous just thinking about it. Well wish me luck...

Suprise...we have an update

Holiday Break

After a very intense semester and a busy year for Jordan, we went packed our bags and the dog and drove to Salt Lake. We spent our holiday break skiing, shopping, snowmobiling, cheering on the Utes and Trojans, Jazz games, sledding, Christmas party after Christmas party, and enjoying friends and family. We spent a couple days in Bear Lake and for Christmas eve, Jordan's mom surprised everyone and planned a horse drawn sled to pull the family around to sing Christmas carols. We had a great Christmas and it was good to be home till about Jan 2... This year I gave Jordan some new ski's and so we hit the slopes on the 2nd. Jordan talked me into going down a steep black diamond run with huge moguls, long story short, I got 1/4 way down and took a tumble and felt the dreaded "POP" in my right knee. I laid there in pain for about 10 min thinking how the hell am I going to get down the mountain because I'm not riding in that gay ski patrol sled thing. So I skied all the way down (VERY SLOWLY) on one leg to find out the run ended before the bottom of the mountain and your only option was to catch a lift back up to the top. I gave in and took a ride in the ski patrol sled :( I'm getting an MRI tomorrow and will find out what's next. The doctor thinks I tore my lateral meniscus and partially tore my ACL. Besides that were enjoying our own bed and sunshine in LA and trying to enjoy my last few days of freedom. I go back to school on Monday and will start my rotations in the OR in the middle of January. (I'm scared to death!!!) Jordan's still in the dog house for dragging me on that mountain and is playing catch up at work.

Top of Solitude, 12 degrees!

Snowmobiling at the cabin

Jordan being man handled by some cougars:)

Me and ski patrol

Thanksgiving in LA

Thanksgiving weekend shopping and hanging out in Manhattan Beach

Stimulating the economy on Black Friday

My dad walked around all day with the tags on his new shirt . Every week is like finals week and I can't wait to start my clinical rotations starting January. We have made time for golf, beach volleyball, and of course Trojan football games on the weekends. I thought Utah fans knew how to tailgate, but the Trojan community wins the award. We got season tickets to the football games and I had no idea what we were in for. It started with the parking, people come out of their homes and sit in their driveways waving
a stick with a fishing lure on the end of it, with a sign "Parking $30", and when you keep driving because your smarter then to leave your car in the back of a strangers run down house, they yell "fool". Tailgating consists of Woodstock like crowds, all with personal grills, 50 inch plasma screens with their own satellite dishes, lots of alcohol with complicated beer bongs, rowdy fans, opposing team mascot pinatas, and during the Oregon State games, a guy had dressed up his great daine in a USC cheerleading outfit with a rope tied around its neck and the other end tied to a rubber duckie (Oregon Ducks). Before the game we decided to go to the bookstore to store to stock up on some USC gear, we found an amusement park line just to get INTO the bookstore (its the Nordstroms of bookstores). Once into the game, it starts with Tommy the Trojan (mascot) stabbing the center of the field with his sword, and the crowd goes wild. Everytime were close to a 1st down, the crowd chants "big balls Pete (coach Pete Carol)" meaning don't kick and go for it. The stadium is huge, holds over 92,000 fans (Rice Eccles holds around 40,000). Tickets sell out for Every game in about 1 hour, and the cheapest seat is around 100 bucks for row 96!! The games are a blast and a good break from studying.

here are a few pics from the reception we had in Bear Lake...

Rewind<<<<

Ok so after many threats, here is my update, finally.....Where to start? Jordan and I finally got married on June 14th and honeymooned in Bora Bora (its in the south Pacific-by Fiji, Australia...) What an incredible place, these pictures don't even do it justice. We had an amazing trip, incredible diving (HUGE barracudas, eels, lots of sharks (grey tip & lemon) and lots of sun and relaxation. We stayed in an over water bungalow that has a balcony that looks over the ocean, part of your floor is glass so you can see the marine life swim from your own room, and your balcony has steps right down to the water to snorkel from your deck. I could go on and on about the wedding and honeymoon, but if your like me, long posts get boring-so Ill keep it short and sweet and let the pics do the talking. We moved to Los Angeles a couple weeks later so I could go to University of Southern California for nurse anesthesia. I had about 4 weeks before I started school to get settled and play. We had a couple visitors and I spent my days shopping, reading at the beach, and discovering SoCal with Monroe. I started school and it has been game on from day 1. My typical day goes something like this. Get up at 6, sit in traffic for 1 hour to go 20 miles, school from 8-2, pull my hair out, study from 3-10, bang head against wall, pass out and then do it all over again. I just keep telling myself in 2 years it will all be worth it. So far LA has been great. (don't tell my mom I said that-it induces tears) Weather is amazing, endless things to do, and DELICIOUS food. Although I have missed Cafe Rio lately. We went to our first movie premier which was interesting, basically all you have to do to fit in in Hollywood is wear black and do some drugs (that was our take at the premier). We have been shopping on Rodeo, watched movies in the Hollywood cemetery, ate our first cupcake at Sprinkles ($4 a whack and a 30 min. wait-but delicious!), Dodgers games, beach volleyball, festivals, outdoor concerts in the middle of downtown and much more... Jordan is doing well, he is adjusting to his new job. For those of you that didn't know, he was able to transfer within the company, and now helps oversee 15 different retirement communities in SoCal. He works as long as I study so it has worked out nicely.

Bora Bora. Picture says it all...(bow chi cha bow wow;)

Our second group of visitors-momma dub, Heather and Angel. We had too much fun...The first night our goal-"blow our wad" and were so sick the next day, we were miserable at the beach, and barely recovered for this day of shopping in Beverly Hills. Armatures...

Monroe at a Malibu beach, she loves it. She gets all sandy and then rubs her face in the sand thinking it will come off...I think she finally realizes that beach=bath time (she hates the later)

Saying goodbye was harder then I thought. We had a reception up there after the honeymoon. (that's where Jordan's from)

Boating on Bear Lake with Monroe AKA- Stinky, Stinks, Monroeski. I don't know what I would do without this dog. If you don't like dogs, I guarantee you would if you met her-just ask my mom. She didn't even like or pet our dogs growing up, Monroe now sleeps on her bed when visiting.

So welcome to Bora Bora...These are the little bungalows we stayed in. I would flip burgers if I could wake up to this every morning.

Soaking in the sun from our private balcony. Tahiti is a french colony so the language barrier was sometimes challenging, but many spoke English. Along with the french colony came topless women. I gave it a whirl per Jordan's request and to indulge myself in the culture, it was short lived. Way too uncomfortable. It didn't really hit me until I was opening my own panties, lube, and other sexy little numbers. My wonderful and hot friend Molly threw the shower for me, she is one of my brides maids. She rolled sushi, made the cutest invitations ever, and had little boxes of naughty chocolates to send home with everybody. My mom didn't go for it so we decided skiing would be fun-I guess my days of baskets and chocolate bunnies are over :-( Skiing was AWSOME, no one was there, the snow was fantastic and it was 50 degrees!!!

USC or TWU???

So as many of you know, I have been applying to Graduate school for nurse anesthesia. The process has been quite expensive and stressful. It consisted of forking over hundreds of dollars for paper, flying out for interview's where I am drilled with clinical questions by 10 men and women for 45 minutes, and then stalking the mailman everyday hoping for an answer. I was lucky enough to get into Texas Wesleyan University in Dallas and University of Southern California in LA. I'm so excited and cant wait to get started. Its a little complicated because we have a house here, Jordan has a wonderful job that he's worked very hard to get, but I have faith that it will all work out. So I created a poll to the right so I can get everyone's opinion.

My biggest loves...

I could babel on and on about why I love these two, but instead I'll just tell you some of my favorite things...

Monroe
1-She likes to lick lotion off your legs, deodorant out of your pits, and the salt off your pants after you wiped your paws after eating potato chips.
2-She lets me paint her toe nails (look closely)
3-She shuts the door after shes done playing outside.
4-After she poops, she peels out with her back paws and runs around the yard like a maniac.
5-She struggles swimming so she has her own special doggie life jacket, and when we go to the lake, she needs sunscreen on the white of her face or she burns ;-(

Jordan
1-He whistles countless hours of tunes-subconsciously
2-Were both terrible spellers (you should see my posts when I spell check-the whole thing lights up)
3-He peed on himself at a golf course because the marshals were coming his way in mid stream
4-He's more afraid of spiders then I am (which is alot)
5-He agreed to be a carrot for Halloween to go with my bunny costume. We had a blast. It was at this place called The Venue. I had never been there but was a little suprised to see all the teeny boppers running around. I was expecting a bar which usually means no little people, we were a minority. She sounds just as good live as she does recorded. For those of you who dont know who she is, look her up. Shes a female version of Jack Johnson. If I ever take the time to figure out how to post music to my blog, she would be on my list. We ended up running into my cousins at the concert, who actually introduced me to her last summer. We went to Green Street after and had some cocktails with them after. There was this one man band that was playing there and he also was incredible. His name is Matt Calder. He plays the guitar, harmonica, sings, and plays the drums with foot petals. If you have a chance to go listen to him, you should. He plays every Friday night at Greet Street. I went into the wrong buisness, I should have been some kind of musician promoter. But really, whether you drink or not, stop by and listen to him, you wont be sorry.

Digging out of Antartica

So I woke up on Monday to discover that I was living in an igloo and there was no way to escape but to shovel my way out.
